Finding God on your mobi?

According to “One News”,  New Zealand….Pope Benedict XVI will be text messaging about 225,000 folks daily during the six-day Catholic festival as a part of World Youth Day. Wow, and you thought your teens ran up the bill… I hope he has one of those unlimited plans from Verizon ;).There will also be a digital prayer wall where attendees can send text messages to be included…Watching this very useful integration of mobile devices in a community setting is very telling. Our phone/mobi, or whatever you call what you carry in your pocket, is a sophisticated tool for mass communication. We often think of text messaging as a 1 to 1 activitiy.  This is an instance where we are using our phone as a tool for social networking and community. Imagine sharing a prayer live with thousands, and at the same time, seeing the needs, concerns and blessings of others.  How can something be anonymous and intimate all at the same time?
