Medialets, It is What Willis Was Talking About
I don’t know about you, but I can hardly wait to grab my new iPhone 3G on July 11th. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve loved my first iPhone, but now I want more. Actually, what I really want is more for less, and luckily, it looks like I’m about to get it!
The new iPhone 3G is filled with all sorts of upgrades, yet it’s priced at just $199. To be honest, I don’t remember exactly what my original iPhone cost but it was a whole lot more, like a couple of hundred bucks more!
Stay with me… this gets good. With my new iPhone, I’ll be able to synch up to Apple’s new “App Store” and instantly install applications to add all sorts of incredible new features and functions to my phone. I’m talking all new and enhanced games, music, nifty little programs, the kinds of things that no phone before it has ever done. But bells and whistles like these usually come with a price tag, and I had been imagining having to shell out a couple hundred bucks just to get access to the handful of apps I decided I couldn’t live without. But here’s the best part - thanks to a new company called Medialets (www.Medialets.com), I don’t have to pay one red cent for the apps of my dreams… I can grab a fistful, or two or three… all for free… there are zero upfront license fees! Instead of a pay-to-play model, Medialets is helping developers to make money by giving their apps away for free (to junkies like me) by serving up quick, targeted ads inside the apps. I don’t know about you, but I’ll take the ads over paying the fees any day of the week!
I love this model because it means I don’t have to stress out about making the right “apps investments”… And neither do you! With the Medialets model, the Apps Store will be very Darwinian - the best apps will rise to the top and the crappy apps will have to shape up or ship out. People will vote with their downloads — not their dollars. July 11th is when it all goes down. iPhone 3G. The Apps Store. And best of all, Medialets – the source for free iPhone fun for life!
