Meet Bacilio, Our Newest Blogger. He’s Young, He’s Hip,…
…and absolutely nothing like me! I confess, I’m pretty much a nerd…I mean, in my own circles, I like to think I’m pretty cool… But let’s face it - mine are not the hippest circles on the block! I live in Sterling, Illinois — a town that prides itself on being the “Hardware Capital of the World.” I live a very lovely, but certifiably unhip life… My husband (Paul) is a well-loved family physician in town … I have three incredible kids (Wade, Grace & Luke) who keep me very busy carpooling… cooking… and cleaning … and two very adorable GoldenDoodles (Indy and Henry) that keep me on my toes. I’m on the cusp of turning 40… and am finding more and more gray hairs on my head each and every day. Even the one thing that makes me feel “almost” cool — my love for gadgets and technology — is well-known to be the geekiest of female traits… So yes, I am a nerd. But my friend Bacilio - HE is not!
Bacilio’s got his finger on the pulse of things… How could he not?… He lives smack, dab in the middle of New York City, he is a 2004 graduate of Oberlin College with a B.A. majoring in: Modern Dance concentrating in performance, choreography & historical theory; English with a concentration in dramatic literature; and Latin American Studies with an independent concentration in Representations & Re-Presentations of Hispanic Masculinity in Mainstream Media.
Quite a mouthful huh?
Well, Bacilio then moved to New York, realized that he enjoyed eating more than twice a week & that he probably should’ve gone pre-med like his mother wanted. Bacilio also has a black schnoodle named Jojo and is working towards a Master of Information and Library Science from Pratt Institute.
