Sprint Strikes Back with Loyalty Program

Sprint has been considered a tier 2 network for the past few years, the combination of poor customer service and lack of smartphone variety has caused a dramatic loss in their subscriber base. However they are looking to change that with a new loyalty program that would allow subscribers to change out their outdated year old handsets for the hot new models. In other words, if you are a loyal subscriber of Sprint you can get a new phone each year without having to pay the traditional new phone penalty that other carriers charge.

James Kendrick, from JkOnTheRun.com had this to say about the announcement, “The Sprint Premier program embers are eligible for, among other things, a phone upgrade every year instead of the standard two years. Sprint will even waive the $18 activation fee. This is a pretty decent benefit, especially for those of us who change phones as often as socks. Let’s hope that Sprint can get some good loyalty going with this new program. I’m quite happy with the network performance, especially the 3G network. Though I can’t comment as to how good Sprint customer support is these days, as so far I haven’t had a reason to complain about anything.”

Now if only Sprint would get some phones that I would want to buy every year it might be worth it!
